THE SALON
THE TEAM >No 74 Hair & Beauty London is arranged over two distinct floors within a Grade II listed Georgian town house in the heart of Clerkenwell, London. The salon makes the most of the building’s heritage and is finished in the decorative style of Louis XIV.
Offering an array of treatments from haircuts and colour, we aim to make our clients feel relaxed while providing great service.
We offer a personal, friendly service, showcasing our passion for hair. Our clients come back time and time again. We think it’s down to the warm, personal relationships we have built with them but you can read some of the nice things they say about us in our testimonials.
Owner Martin Reichelt, German, worked with leading interior designer, Bettina Schmid to turn his ideas into reality. His inspiration came from boutique-style salons in Germany and Zurich and his love of Louis XIV era furniture with a dash of Chanel No 5. Together, they handpicked the furniture with cream leather chosen as the finish for all the salon chairs and wash stations to create a neutral, timeless and elegant ambiance. One of the main features in the salon are the floor lengths golden mirrors, chosen to make the rooms look taller and as a good way to make a bold statement without wasting space. You can see some of the initial ideas below.
The hard work paid off as the salon was a finalist in the British Hairdressing Business Awards in their first year of opening for Salon Design category.
The team look forward to welcoming you to our award-winning salon soon.
GROUND FLOOR >
The ground floor is where we welcome our clients and showcase our range of professional hair and beauty products available for purchase.
With plenty of natural light we also use this floor for cutting.
FIRST FLOOR >
The first floor houses a dedicated colouring area where our expert technicians can work with you to create your desired look. The area has plenty of natural light while ensuring that you are not sitting in public view. We use Wella professional colours, offering a wide choice of shades and the expertise to get you the best colour.
This floor also has our coffee station from which we can offer you an array of espresso coffees, tea or cold drinks during your visit.
OUR LOCATION >
Clerkenwell is steeped in history but nowadays it’s known more as the hub of modern design.
Smithfield market, Charterhouse and The Priory of St John sit alongside architect’s studios, design agencies and furniture showrooms. There is something for everyone with the more traditional crafts of the area making a return with The Craft Council on Clerkenwell Green and a number of tailors and jewellers setting up nearby. By night, it comes alive with a diverse range of restaurants and bars.
You can find out more about Clerkenwell in the local, bi-monthly magazine The Clerkenwell Post or visit Clerkenwell Design Week held in May each year.
We are delighted to be located here and be part of this great community.
